Our Dementia Choirs are therapeutic, client centred groups where we use the power of music and singing to offer people safe, supportive and caring sessions designed to promote positive self regard. Our groups bring together people with Dementia, their family, carers and other support staff. We believe in offering a group where all people can find their voice.

Our  Story

Our founder member Lisa Williams was fortunate to discover first hand the transformational power of music therapy whilst training for her masters degree in Music therapy in 2018. Lisa was privileged to train with the visionary team at the University of the West of England and their Aphasia Choir. Lisa was determined to set up a local Choir and Cafe on her graduation in 2020.

The Covid pandemic slowed the project down, but in 2023 the Royal Wootton Bassett Dementia Choir and Cafe was formed. The Choir has since worked with hundreds of people living with Dementia and associated conditions and currently meets weekly, either at their 'home' in St Bartholomews' Church hall, or else on 'tour' visiting local care homes, community venues and churches.
